Letters to the Editor
Sir, "If they commit the offence the first time they are to blame, if they commit it the next time, we are to blame" (John F. Kennedy on the eve of Cuban blockade). This is not the first time that the United States is attacking Iraq on flimsy grounds. If the world happens to be a helpless onlooker, a witness to the atrocities committed by the United States it has to blame itself. As Rajeev Dhavan has averred in `Indefensible war' (April 4), Uncle Sam has tried to destabilise and devastate a number of countries. He has not succeeded so far. He will never. V. Kameswaran, Chennai
