Uttaranchal
``Following the long-pending demand of devotees, the return route of the yatra has been altered so that they can have darshan of Patal Bhuvneshwar in Pithorgarh,'' the District Magistrate, Naveen Chandra Sharma, who is also the nodal officer for the yatra, told reporters here today. The return route has been diverted through Bageshwar-Almora instead of Lohaghat-Champawat. Mr. Sharma said 720 pilgrims would be allowed this year. They would be sent in 16 batches, each with 45 pilgrims, from Dharchoola base camp on June 4. The pilgrims would leave New Delhi for Dharchoola on June 2. A doctor, a ward boy and a cook would accompany each batch. Satellite phones would be installed at various places. PTI
