Shelling in Kargil

SRINAGAR APRIL 17. One person was reported killed and six were injured in artillery and mortar shelling between Indian and Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Kargil.

A defence spokesman said, ``Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked shelling in the Kargil sector, killing one person and injuring six others''. The Indian troops returned the fire. The injured included four school boys. Two schools and four homes were reported damaged.
