Laloo wields the lathi

GAYA APRIL 18. The RJD president, Laloo Prasad Yadav, today picked up a `lathi' to control the party workers who clashed in his presence at the Gandhi Maidan here, during a meeting called to garner support for the party's ``sampradayikta bhagao desh bachao'' (oust communalism and save the nation) rally to be held on April 30.

On seeing the rival factions of the Gaya district unit of the RJD clash with lathis in which the chief of the Kukri gram panchayat, Chandrika Yadav, and his uncle received injuries, Mr. Yadav picked up a lathi himself and threatened to use it to control the clash.
