Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Union Power Ministry recently said that no State is giving free power anymore. But the Energy Minister made it clear that the States had the liberty to subsidise or give free power to any section of the consumers if they compensated the State Electricity Boards or other power generating companies. Is this not a ploy to cheat the public? This subsidised or free power will be compensated only by a higher tariff from the other consumers.
