Collectors empowered to alienate land

HYDERABAD April 23. The Government has decided to empower the district Collectors to alienate land up to ten acres to industrial units, subject to the value fixed by the Government, in all areas except those covered under the urban agglomerations. In case of above ten acres, the normal procedure should be followed.

This decision was taken here on Tuesday after the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, held a meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board at the Secretariat.

Mr. Naidu directed officials to prepare an action plan to evolve a training programme to promote entrepreneurs and professional businessmen. He also asked them to develop a training module in coordination with the CII, a press release issued by the Chief Minister's office stated.

The Chief Minister asked officials to computerise the DICs of Ranga Reddy, Medak, Visakhapatnam, and the Industries Commissioner's office for uplinking with Internet.

K. Vidyadhar Rao, Major Industries Minister, Mohan Kanda, Chief Secretary, B.P. Acharya, Principal Secretary, Industries, T.S. Appa Rao, Commissioner, Industries, were among those who attended the meeting.
