KOLKATA: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, famed for his martial arts skills, now looks for "different roles" in Bollywood to display his versatility and come out of the `action hero' image. "For the last three years I have been trying to search myself, my abilities. There are a lot of things other than action. I want to play different roles to show my strength as an actor," the actor, who was here to campaign for his coming release Andaaz, told a press conference on Thursday. Akshay, accompanied by co-star Priyanka Chopra, said he had changed a lot since playing the lead role in Jaanwar, which remains his favourite so far. "For the first 10 years in Bollywood, I was there without knowing what I was doing actually. But after Jaanwar, I started inventing myself through different portrayals in films such as Ek Rishta, Dhadkan and others." PTI
