By K. Balchand
The BJP general secretary, Pramod Mahajan, ruled out the possibility of any alliance in Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan, going to the polls later this year. He said the elections would be crucial for the BJP as it would be the last trial of strength with the Congress. The elections would indicate the most probable contender for forming the next government at the Centre after the Lok Sabha polls. While claiming that the BJP had enough strength to take on the Congress in the four states, Mr. Mahajan said his party was also banking on the anti-incumbency factor, the "failures" of the Governments in these States.
