U.K. welcomes prospect of talks
Aizawl
April 24.
Britain has welcomed the possibility of a dialogue between India and Pakistan for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir problem.
The British High Commissioner to India, Sir Rob Young, told newsmen here, "Any peaceful solution to the existing Kashmir problem is welcome to the United Kingdom and we are ready to offer any help or assistance for its peaceful settlement." He, however, ruled out third party mediation on the issue. "Britain feels that Kashmir is a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and both the countries should sort out the differences between themselves."
