Winnie convicted

PRETORIA April 24. A court convicted Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and her broker, Addy Moolman, of fraud and theft today in connection with a bogus bank loan scandal. ``The state's evidence is overwhelming,'' said the magistrate at a Pretoria court. Defence lawyers had argued that Nelson Mandela's former wife had been duped into participating in a fraud scheme she knew nothing about.
