AIFF probables

CHENNAI APRIL 26. The All India Football Federation has released the names of 46 players who have been short-listed for the senior and under-23 Indian teams for the coming season.

India's major commitments ahead are — the LG Cup tournament in Vietnam in September, where it defends its title, and the Afro-Asian Games.

The players, most of whom are from the various NFL teams, will attend a workshop to be conducted by the Chairman of the AIFF Medical Committee, Dr. Vece Paes from June 9 to 12 at the Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata. Experts from SAI and private hospitals will attend the workshop. This is part of an exercise to assess the medical, physical, mental, emotional and soccer fitness levels of the players, according to Mr. Alberto Colaco, AIFF Secretary.
