Tamil Nadu-Chennai
By Our Staff Reporter
According to a press note from the Confederation and Exnora International, the representatives held a meeting with the Tamil Nadu State Cable TV Operators' Welfare, Safety and Service Association, a forum of operators offering just free-to-air channels at affordable rates, to branch into areas that are currently covered by just one of the two multi-system operators, Sumangali Cable Vision and Hathway. The subscribers' associations have condemned the unsubstantiated hikes effected by cable TV operators despite the recent withdrawal of some of the pay channels from the multi-system operator's package. The association has further resolved to meet the Police Commissioner and request him to provide adequate security for the operation of the free-to-air cable operators in newer areas, as they fear intimidation from the cable TV operator enjoying monopoly there.
