Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Staff Reporter
Aimed at recycling and conserving water, the STP has been equipped to treat sewage and also to use the treated water for flushing and landscaping purpose. According to the trade centre Managing Director, G.Yoganand, the 70,000-litre capacity STP after tertiary treatment would take care of an estimated consumption of 50,000 litres per day for about 200 toilets at the centre and another 10,000 litres for gardening. This would result in saving 25 million litres per year, he said. Appreciating the effort, Mr. Naidu, called upon private establishments to take up similar projects and promised to look into the possibilities of providing incentives. The Union Minister of State for Railways, Bandaru Dattatreya, stressed the need for taking up initiatives towards conservation of water in view of the severe water shortage. "Such is the situation in the city that people are scared of inviting relatives," he quipped. N. Indrasena Reddy, MLA and BJP Floor leader and the city BJP president, C. Ramachandra Reddy, were also present.
