DYFI call to boycott multinationals

By Our Staff Reporter

KOLLAM April 27. The ninth State conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) being held here, has called for a strong political and belligerent challenge to counter the onslaught of multi-national and imperialist forces in the country.

A resolution in this connection says that patriotic forces in the country are duty bound to create such a counter force in the wake of the situation posed by multinational and imperialist forces in the country.

Wanton globalisation during the past decade has seen the country caving in to the vested interests of foreign capital investments. The BJP-led NDA Government which came to power on the Swadeshi plank, has now turned out to be agents of the imperialist forces. Even the UDF Government in Kerala is no different, it said.

At the same time, the DYFI would engage itself in a comprehensive campaign that would stress on the need to boycott products of multinationals and instead promote Swadeshi products. The DYFI has also called upon the people of the State to join hands in fighting those nefarious sections who are spreading a criminal cult in the State. The `blade mafia' and the hooch mafia have been specifically targetted by the DYFI to be countered.
