Kerala-Thiruvananthapuram
By Our Staff Reporter
The strike was part of a conspiracy hatched by the CPI(M) to thwart foreign investment in the State, alleged K. Sanakaranarayana Pillai, the chairman of the party. He accused the DYFI of not having reacted against the commercialisation of education by the previous Left Front Government in the State. The DYFI also did not have any qualms over advocating Hindustan Lever products during an agitation by the merchant community, he maintained. The CPI(M) and its feeder organisations should desist from destroying the investor-friendly atmosphere now prevalent in Kerala in the greater interests of the masses, he demanded.
