Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Staff Reporter
The meeting felt that the transfers and promotions must be carried out during summer vacation for schools when the teachers are free and that they must be in place to be completely involved in teaching on reopening of schools, the federation president, K. Jojaiah, and general secretary, N. Narayana, told newsmen here on Sunday while briefing the outcome of the meeting. Releasing the resolutions adopted at the meeting, they said it was decided to seek donations liberally from the teachers for setting up gruel centres to provide succour to drought victims. The meeting demanded allocation of 30 per cent of the total State budget for education. The meeting also wanted that the Government to take over all aided schools since the overall supervision of academic and examination matters of the institutions was vested with the Government. In-service training was sought for untrained teachers. The meeting elected a 17-member executive, including president and secretary, unanimously. It was decided to organise the seventh State conference of the APUTF at Hyderabad in December.
