'PM should be ready for war also'

KOLHAPUR APRIL 27. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad general secretary, Praveen Togadia, said today that though there was nothing wrong in the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee's latest peace initiatives vis-à-vis

Pakistan, he should be prepared for war also.

However, he would not be with the Government if the new initiatives failed to live up to the expectations and yield the desired result, Mr. Togadia told presspersons here.

He called for developing closer Indo-U.S. ties to tackle cross-border infiltration, terrorism and defeat jehadi elements.

The VHP was not affiliated to any political party but respected those who supported the construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya, a Common Civil Code and opposed jehad, he said. — UNI
