By Our Staff Reporter

Coimbatore April 27. M. Nazar (52), Madukkarai panchayat union secretary of the DMK and president of the Madukkarai special grade town panchayat, who was regulating the cadres assembled at a hotel here to have a glimpse of their party president, M. Karunanidhi, died of cardiac arrest this afternoon.

Party sources said the cadres were waiting to buy a copy of the book, Tholkappiya Poonga, from Mr. Karunanidhi and for taking photographs with him at a photo-session at the hotel in Race Course in which the DMK president had been staying since yesterday.

As he was regulating the cadres, and as the crowd started swelling, an exhausted Nazar was said to have complained of profuse sweating and uneasiness around 12 noon.

He died on way to hospital.
