Media urged not to play up miracle cures

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD April 27. The Federation of Atheist, Rationalist and Humanist Associations (FARHA) has urged the media not to play up stories on superstitions, miracle cures and claims of astrologers. At a press conference here on Sunday, N. Innaiah, coordinator, FARHA, said people were being misled by such claims and reports in media.

He suggested that all such reports should be accompanied by a statement where readers should be warned that the editor had no scientific basis to assert the predictions or miracles. Similarly, television channels should scroll a message while showing such programmes.

Participating in the second anniversary of Jeevantatva Yoga Samstha here on Sunday, Mr. Dattatreya said mental happiness could be possible only through yoga.

The samstha director, P.G. Krishna Murthy, the NIMS director, Kakarla Subba Rao, and others participated.
