According to a release issued here on Monday, the GSC was declared open by the Malaysian Minister of Energy, Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Amar Leo Moggie. The GSC is a hi-tech centre with state-of-the-art infrastructure and video-conference facilities, equipped with high end security feature such as biometric (finger-print) security system. It will have 24 X 7 access to Satyam's global knowledge reporistory that can be leveraged to deliver cutting edge solutions to customers across the globe. The centre has been accorded the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status and directly supports the software needs of Asia-Pacific operations of some of its Fortune 500 clients. In conjunction with the launch of GSC, Satyam and Microsoft signed an MoU that will see the two working together to create worldclass IT oustcourcing capabilities. The collaboration envisages Satyam working with Microsoft Malaysia in key industrial verticals such as government, banking and financial services, insurance, manufacturing, retail and distribution, and logistics. This is likely to lead to creation of over 200 Microsoft Certified developers in the next 24 months for the GSC.
