Transfer of Mission officials in Mauritius confirmed

NEW DELHI APRIL 28. The Centre today confirmed that some officials at the Indian High Commission in Mauritius had been transferred as part of a "regular administrative decision". It dismissed reports that there was a near breakdown of relations with the Mauritius Government.

"Some officials have been routinely transferred but there is absolutely no misunderstanding with the Mauritius Government," an External Affairs Ministry spokesman told presspersons here. Asked if the officials transferred included the High Commissioner, Vijay Kumar, he said: "if I receive any information in this regard, I shall make the announcement". — UNI
