By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI APRIL 28. A 51-year-old man armed with a toy gun found near the Race Course residence of the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, was arrested by police today.

SPG personnel posted at Mr. Vajpayee's residence spotted Mohammad Yaqub of Muzzafarnagar in Uttar Pradesh around 10 a.m. He is claimed to have said that he had an appointment with Mr. Vajpayee.

Police said that he had the uniform of a sub-inspector and a photograph in which he was wearing the uniform.

Yaqub was taken to the Lohia Hospital where doctors confirmed that he was mentally challenged. Police said that Yaqub, a father of three daughters and three sons, seemed fascinated with the police services.
