Anand Mahindra new CII President

NEW DELHI APRIL 29. The Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra, Anand Mahindra, today took over as the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Managing Director of Hero Cycles has taken over as CII Vice President.

According to a CII release, Mr. Mahindra became Vice Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra in 2001 after which the company launched the Scorpio, India's latest sports utility vehicle. He co-founded Kotak Mahindra Finance, which has just become a bank and is also co-founder of the Harvard Business School Association of India. He also gave special focus to agriculture in his tenure as head of CII's agriculture council.
