Apple opens online music store

SAN FRANCISCO: Apple Computer has unveiled its online music store on Monday in a move that both the company and the record industry hope will mark the beginning of a lucrative and legal partnership offering downloads of popular music. Apple will offer individual songs and full albums for downloading from the five largest record companies — Warner, BMG, EMI, Sony Music and Universal. — AP
