Failed SSC students can study Inter

HYDERABAD April 29. Students who have failed in SSC need not worry about losing an academic year. The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has launched new vocational courses, which allow the SSC failed students to study them for one year and then directly gain admission into the concerned subject in the vocational courses offered by the junior colleges. However, they have to necessarily pass the SSC examination in the mean time to take admission into the second year of Intermediate.

The BIE Secretary, B. Kripanandam, said 54 new courses have been launched aimed at students who fail in the SSC examinations this year. The students have three months, six months and one year course to choose from and they are basically aimed at developing skills and job-oriented. He said lakhs of students fail in SSC every year and they can make best use of this opportunity.

The three-month courses being offered right now include, Unix, C, C++, VB & Oracle, Oracle with D2K, AutoCad, Wed Designing, Computer based fashion designing, MS-Office, DTP, Soft Toys & Flower making. The 6-month courses already launched include Diploma in Computer Applications, Diploma in IT, Advanced multimedia, Graphics & Animation, Hardware technology and Plastic technology.

Some of the one-year courses include Advance diploma in Computer Applications, Advanced diploma in IT, Building construction, Accountancy, Taxation, Fashion Designing, Diploma in Hotel management, Pre-primary teaching training, Interior designing and Sericulture assistant.
