NDA demands CBI probe into murder

By Our Staff Correspondent

PATNA MAY 1 . The NDA today demanded a CBI probe into the murder on Wednesday of Satyanarayan Sinha alias Satyanarayan Singh Yadav, who had contested the Danapur Assembly byelection on the BJP ticket last year.

The murder has triggered a war of words between the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Opposition in Bihar, BJP, which observed a bandh in Danapur today to protest the murder.

The RJD chief, Laloo Prasad Yadav, charged the BJP leaders with conspiracy in attacking his relative's house. He held the BJP state unit chief, Nand Kishore Yadav, and the Leader of Opposition, S.K. Modi, responsible for the disturbance and alleged that the State Government would enquire into the entire episode leading to the murder. He said the firing emanated from the house of the relative of the BJP state president. The BJP leaders alleged that it was from the house of the relative of the RJD chief the firing started.

The BJP general secretary, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the Railway Minister, Nitish Kumar, the Union Small Scale Industries Minister, C.P. Thakur, the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Ravishanker Prasad, besides Mr. Modi and Mr. Yadav, visited Danapur and demanded a CBI probe into the murder.
