Kaif to play for Derbyshire

London MAY 1. Derbyshire has signed Mohd. Kaif as a replacement for Shahid Afridi for the last four months of the summer season.

The 22-year-old Kaif is expected to make his debut for the county on June 4 against Glamorgan.

Kaif, who was a member of India's World Cup squad, has appeared in 53 one-day internationals and four Tests.

He scored a brilliant 87 not out in the Natwest final at Lord's as India chased a daunting 326 for victory.

Unable to find a place in the Test side, Kaif was allowed to play a county match for Leicestershire.
