Mother Teresa award presented

BANGALORE MAY 1. The U.S. based "International Integrity Peace and Friendship Society" has conferred the Mother Teresa Excellence Award on the president, Southern India Vysya Association (Chennai), P. Eshwara Gupta, the Registrar of Alagappa University (Karakudi), R.Dhandapani, the president of Subramanya Gram Panchayat, M. Kumar Nair, and the Chairman, Akshaya Cooperative Credit Society (Karwar), Leo Francis Lewis, (in absentia) here today in recognition of their social service.

The society also conferred special awards on the Karnataka Minister for Labour, Qamar-ul-Islam, the Minister for Medical Education, A.B. Maalakaraddy, and the president of the Hassan Zilla Panchayat, Gurusiddappa.

Expressing their thanks for the special award conferred on them, the Ministers spoke on the importance of May Day in eradicating social inequality.
