Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Legal Correspondent
The Bench, comprising B. Sudershan Reddy and C.V. Ramulu, was dealing with a public interest writ petition filed by the Forum for Better Hyderabad. Jeevananda Reddy, coordinator for the water bodies, deposed on behalf of the forum and complained that permanent structures were coming up in and around the lake. He said a Bench dealing with proposed tourism projects in and around the lake declared in 2001 that no permanent structure shall come up near the water body or in the catchment area. The Bench perused the records and observed that no further constructions should take place. It adjourned the case to June 10.
Admissions stayed
Another Bench stayed admissions into certain private institutions offering multipurpose health assistant training until further orders. The Bench, comprising Bilal Naz0ki and E. Dharma Rao, was dealing with writ petitions filed by students who completed the course from these institutions.
Order on adoptions
A Division Bench set aside the order of the family court of Hyderabad, which permitted certain `public spirited' social activists to implead in the case pertaining inter-country adoptions.
