Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Staff Reporter
"I expected to be in the top 10 but not the topmost,'' said Vijay, who hails from Mahabubabad in Warangal district. Seven students from the Nalanda Educational Institutions figured in the top 10 scores while five students from the Brilliant Grammar High School, Dilsukhagar, also figured in the top 10. The Nalanda institution's students shared third, fifth, sixth, eighth, ninth and 10th highest scores of the State. K. Alekhya, who secured the fifth highest score, said she wanted to join the IIT and dedicated the rank to her mother whose dream was to see Alekhya secure a State rank. The sixth highest scorer, Sree Harsha Varma, wants to become an automobile engineer. Interestingly, Vineela Rekha (eighth highest score), Lakshmi Kumuda (ninth), Rakesh (10th) and P. Chandana (10th) want to study medicine. The rankers gave credit to teachers and the Nalanda institute chairman, M. Suryanarayana Raju, who incidentally never went to school. The Brilliant school students were B. Keerthi Iyengar (580 marks), G. Sreekar (580), B. Pratyusha (578), V. Rasika (576) and J. Vamshidhar Reddy (575), according to K. Narayan Reddy, correspondent of the school.
