dated May 5,1953: Chundrigar's Reluctance

Mr. Ismat Ismail Chundrigar, designated by Karchi to go to New Delhi as Pakistan's High Commissioner had expressed his inability to take up the diplomatic assignment. Mr. Chundrigar is understood to have expressed his inability to take up his new assignment in New Delhi. Mr. Chundrigar, who relinquished charge of his office as Pakistan Punjab's Governor on the 1st planned, according to sources in Lahore, to resume his legal practice at the Bar in Karachi, and had therefore expressed his desire not to be pressed to go to New Delhi.
