Shahnawaz, member of Central Wakf Council

NEW DELHI MAY 3. The Centre has reconstituted the Central Wakf Council with the Civil Aviation Minister, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, as one of its members.

In a notification issued here by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the new 19-member Council will have a tenure of five years and has come into effect from May 1, 2003.

To be headed by the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Satyanarayan Jatiya, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain and Members of Parliament, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Akbar Ali Khandoker have been appointed as its members.
