HYDERABAD MAY 2. C.Y.Somayajulu, Judge of the AP High Court, on Friday set aside the election of Sobha Hymavathi Devi (TDP) to the State Legislature from the Srungavarapu Kota (ST) Assembly constituency in Vizianagaram district. The Judge was dealing with an election petition filed by unsuccessful Anna TDP candidate and Congress candidate. The petitioners complained that Hymavathi Devi was not a person from the Scheduled Tribes. Justice Somayajulu on exhaustive study of the material and evidence placed before him held that the candidate was not eligible to be elected from the Assembly seat exclusively reserved for Scheduled Tribes.
