The scheme was introduced last year so that candidates who fail in one or two subjects are able to take the instant examinations, and if successful, can continue in the next higher class, without losing a full academic year. According to a release from the Director, C. Palanivelu, the timetable for higher secondary examinations is: June 25 (forenoon) - Language I and (afternoon) Language II; June 26 (FN) English I and (AN) English II; June 27 (FN) Advanced Languages and Foundation Science and (AN) Home Science, Part III General and Vocational Subjects, Typewriting, Office Secretaryship practical, Business Machines and Computer Programme; June 28 (FN) Physics/History and (AN) Accountancy, Siddha. June 30 (FN) - Chemistry, Fine Arts and Logic and (AN) Psychology, Vocational Subject - I, Office Secretaryship practical II, Shorthand; July 1 (FN) - Mathematics, Zoology and (AN) Political Science; July 2 (FN) Biology, Botany, Business Maths, Environmental Studies and (AN) Commerce; July 3 (FN) Economics and (AN) Sociology, Ayurvedha. July 4 (FN) Philosophy and all Vocational Subjects theory; Vocational Stream Part III subjects Computer Science, Electronics, Office Management, Domestic Electrical Appliances, Electrical Motor Rewinding, General Machinist, Radio and TV Maintenance, Banking and General Insurance and (AN) Geogrphy; and July 5 (FN) Statistics, Indian Culture.
For SSLC/OSLC
June 30 (FN) Language I also OSLC Tamil and (AN) Language II; July 1 (FN) English I and (AN) English II; July 2 (FN) Mathematics and (AN) OSLC Main Language I; July 3 (FN) Science and (AN) OSLC Main Language II; July 4 (FN) Social Science and (AN) OSLC Advanced Main Language III.
For Matriculation
June 30 (FN) Language I and (AN) Language II; July 1 (FN) English I and (AN) English II; July 2 (FN) Mathematics I and (AN) Mathematics II; July 3 (FN) Science I and (AN) Science II; July 4 (FN) History and Civics and (AN) Geography. The same timetable will be followed for Anglo Indian supplementary examinations except with respect to the first day when the only Language paper will be held in the forenoon session.
