Youth information corner opened

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM May 2. The District Panchayat is planning to establish a network of Youth Information Counselling Corners covering all gram panchayats, the district panchayat president, Sasikala Sivasankar, announced here today. She was inaugurating a Youth Information Counselling Corner set up by the District Literacy Mission and the Family Planning Association at Poonthura.

Ms.Sivasankar said the corners were aimed at youth aged between 15 and 25 years who have completed school. The programme covers personality development, vocational training, counselling and medical camps.

Ms.Sivasankar said corners would be opened this month at the continuing education centres at Poonthura, Kuriyathi, Venjaramoodu, Velarkudy and Attingal. The Poonthura ward councillor Mariadasi presided over the inaugural function.
