The Home Minister, T. Devender Goud, today inaugurated the Ranga Reddy SP office in Vikarabad and laid foundation stones separately for the construction of a new building for SP office and a district jail. Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the SP office, Mr. Goud announced that the RR district jail would be built at a cost of Rs. 2.5 crores. He asked authorities and the local MLA, Chandrashekhar, to suggest land for construction of office building for the Revenue Divisional Office in Vikarabad. The Minister flagged off a new Rakshak vehicle allotted to the RR district police. Expressing happiness over shifting of the SP office, Mr. Chandrashekhar appealed to the Government to shift the district Collectorate also to Vikarabad. The DGP, P. Ramulu, said the RR SP office was shifted to Vikarabad keeping in view the Government's policy of "an officer should reside in the area he or she works.'' The RR SP, Surya Prakasa Rao, welcome the gathering. The Deputy Speaker, K. Harishwar Reddy, the MLA, P. Mahinder Reddy, the Zilla Parishad Chairman, K. Gnaneshwar, the Vikarabad Municipality Chairperson, Jaya Narsing Rao, and several senior police officers were present.
