Dust haze engulfs North

NEW DELHI MAY 3. Dust haze engulfed most parts of the northern States and a high-velocity storm hit Rajasthan today disrupting normal life and vehicular traffic but bringing some respite from the soaring heat. In Rajasthan, high-velocity winds blew in the western desert region in Jaisalmer and Barmer districts shifting huge sand dunes.

Met office attributed the dust haze to western disturbances over Jammu and Kashmir and the dry winds coming in from Rajasthan.

The haze was likely to remain throughout the day and clear up only tomorrow, the Deputy Director General of the Indian Meteorological Department told PTI here.
