Tamil Nadu-Chennai
By Our Staff Reporter
In a release, they said: "Our representatives visited the site of the alleged dumping, located on State Highway 44. Soil and water samples were drawn from the spot. The samples have been comprehensively analysed and the chemicals present are those which are not even used in any of the manufacturing process or operations at the factory in Chromepet". They alleged that the few empty tubes that were found near the incident site and prompted the TNPCB to send a notice, were part of domestic waste generated in the municipal system and not rejected tubes arising out of the manufacturing process. "The company cannot obviously take the responsibility for litter created by domestic waste after its products have been used by consumers in the market," the release said and added that an appropriate response would be sent to the TNPCB.
