The plant's product known as "Rail Neer" would be marketed for use by railway customers and others. It was seen as a first major step forward towards redeeming the announcement made by Mr. Kumar in his budget speech last year that the Railways would produce and market bottled, pure and hygienic mineral water under the Rail Neer brand. Speaking on the occasion, he said that with the commissioning of the first plant at Nangloi here, the Government was fulfilling a commitment made to the nation one year ago.
