Walter Sisulu dead

JOHANNESBURG MAY 6. Walter Sisulu, who for five decades helped shape the strategy of the march to racial equality in South Africa, died here at 9 p.m. (8 p.m. GMT) on Monday after a long illness. He was 90.

``His absence has carved a void. A part of me is gone,'' the former President, Nelson Mandela, said in a statement.
