Indian in Beijing SARS list

By P. S. Suryanarayana

BEIJING MAY 6. ``One person from India is now receiving medical treatment'' in Beijing as a ``suspected case of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome'', according to an official of the Communist Party of China, Cai Fuchao.

Briefing reporters, he said two other overseas residents of the city were declared SARS-free after diagnosis. The Indian patient was not identified.

Another foreigner, apparently on a visit to the city, was still in hospital. A visiting official of the International Labour Organisation, Pekka Aro, died of SARS in China last month.
