Another reshuffle of Governors

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI MAY 13. The Government today announced a major mid-term reshuffle of Governors in the east and northeast. A total of six Governors have been moved, with the only explanation given for this being that some had ``too much on their plates and some too little''.

The Bihar Governor, Vinod Chandra Pande, will now be Governor of Arunachal Pradesh replacing Arvind Dave. Mr. Dave, in turn, will replace the former police officer, Ved Marwah, as the Governor of Manipur.

Mr. Marwah moves to Jharkhand for the remainder of his term to replace Justice Rama Jois. Mr. Jois moves to Bihar.

The Governor of Tripura, Lt. Gen. K.M. Seth, and the Governor of Chhattisgarh, D.N. Sahaya, will swap places for the rest of their terms in office.

Assam still remains without a full-time Governor. Following the appointment of the Assam Governor, Lt. Gen. S.K. Sinha to Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Dave, who moves from Arunachal Pradesh to Manipur, has been given additional charge of the State.
