Touchtel's new tariff plans

CHENNAI MAY 15. Touchtel, the basic services brand of the Bharti group, has announced seven new tariff plans. Of these, two are specially designed for Tamil Nadu subscribers. The plans include Basic, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum, Touchtel Special and Touchtel Easy. These have been framed keeping in mind the diverse needs of a cross section of subscribers, according to Deepak Pande, Chief (Operations), Touchtel, Tamil Nadu.

Addressing presspersons here today, Mr. Pande said TT Special and TT Easy are designed for low and medium users. TT Special, which has a rental of Rs. 275, does not have any scheme charges. It carries 50 pulses free and the local; STD and Internet will be charged at Rs. 1.10 and the ISD pulses will be at the rate of Re. 1. The TT Easy plan does not have a rental but has scheme charges of Rs. 500. It has 50 pulses free and above 50 it is Re. 1.

The features of the new plans included usage benefit on incoming international calls. This facility is being introduced for the first time in the country. Other features included 25 paise per minute for local calls for high local usage customers, upto 40 per cent off on international calls (ISD) and 40 per slash on Internet surfing during off peak hours.
