Sonia demands inquiry

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI MAY 15. The Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, today expressed shock over the "terrible accident" involving the Mumbai-Amritsar Golden Temple Express. In her message, she called upon the Central and the State Governments to ensure that relief and medical services were provided speedily and adequate compensation was given to the victims.

"A through, objective and time-bound inquiry into the incident must be carried out to ensure that faults are removed, the guilty, if any, punished and all steps are taken to prevent the recurrence of such accidents in future.''
