BSNL cuts cell rates

NEW DELHI MAY 15. Barely a day after slashing rates for its fixed line phones, the BSNL today announced cut in tariffs of its cellular services — CellOne.

While the tariffs for the pre-paid scheme were reduced in the range of 8.33 per cent to 50 per cent, those for post-paid were slashed between 8.33 per cent and 65.22 per cent under various plans. The new rates, to be effective from May 17, World Telecom Day. also included the 40 per cent reduced tariffs for SMS, the BSNL Chairman and Managing Director, Prithipal Singh, told a press conference. — UNI
