Some of them are of more than 20 years of age, according to the sources in the Health Department. For example the one at Vallachira in Thrissur district was constructed when the CPI leader, K P Prabhakaran, was the Health Minister in the early 1980s. Similarly one building constructed at Poyya in Mala constituency is still remaining unutilised, the sources told The Hindu here. Interestingly, when the Health Department had made it clear that they will not create new posts when they were giving the sanction for those buildings in the early phases.
