The veil of secrecy

Sir, — The article by Anjali Mody ( May 12 ) brings out the happening within our system and highlights the attitude of our bureaucrats.

The bureaucrats are supposed to give good advice to the government. Instead, they are giving wrong advice, particularly to the Home Ministry, regarding sensitive issues as Kashmir. The Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, has said that some of our bureaucrats have been giving wrong advice.

He also said that they advise leaders to rig elections. Will he disclose their names?

Jagat Ranjan Mishra,

Bhubaneswar, Orissa
