Letters to the Editor
Sir, __ It is a welcome news that the Union Labour Ministry has constituted a committee to study the sexual harassment of women at their workplace (May 13). So far, it seems that such studies have been confined to government offices, public sector undertakings and the like. The unorganised sector, where a large number of women are employed, is not covered under this study. Because of money and muscle power, unlettered women in this segment who are often subjected to sexual harassment hardly come forward to expose the atrocities caused to them. Therefore, the panel should undertake the study among all women in the unorganised sector. It is hoped that the proposed panel will suggest stringent measures to put an end to sexual harassment of women at their workplace. S. Nallsivan, Tirunelveli, T.N.
