Letters to the Editor
Sir, In response to your editorial "Waiting for violence to end" ( May 9 ), I want to protest against the use of phrases like "change of regime," "war-mongering government," "murderous policy" and more that were used to describe the Government of Israel. Even if one may not agree with the Government's viewpoints, one should realise that it is an elected democratic government, which represents the concerns of the Israeli public.Nevertheless, on the subject matter of violence and negotiations, I would like to emphasise that the Israeli Government is committed to peace and is willing for a compromise when violence and terror from the Palestinian side is fully eradicated. Yaron Mayer, Israeli Embassy, New Delhi
