Letters to the Editor
Sir, Your edit on Combating paedophilia ( May 15 ) lauding the legal initiative and referring to educational focus through incentives should also have focussed on the fundamental reasons for child abuse and poverty. Many families can ill-afford to dispense with their children for their education fructifying years later when the source of the next meal is not known. Understanding their unique Catch 22 situation, evening classes, vocational components in the form of tailoring, electronic gadget and watch repair could be considered. Hariharan. N, Chennai
